When do you need a quick-release clamp instead of a carpenter’s clamp or spring clamp?
Pick a quick-release clamp when you want fast lever or one-hand set-up and release on mid-size spans (roughly 150–900 mm in this guide) at the force bands above. What is the difference between a lever clamp and an automatic quick-clamp?
A lever clamp here uses a precision ratchet lever, 100 mm depth and 150 kg force (widths 250–800 mm). An automatic quick-clamp is one-handed with a release button, 80 mm depth and 135 kg force (widths 150–900 mm). Both STALCO PERFECT lines offer reversible jaws for clamping and spreading.
How do you choose opening width for a glue-up?
Measure the widest part you need to close, then choose a clamp whose title width (or woodworking guide length) is at least that wide. On lever and automatic titles, ignore the fixed line label (100X250MM, 60×150, 80X150MM) if the width figure next to it is different.
Which clamping force is enough for woodworking joints?
Use the kg figure on the product title where it is given: 60 kg (automatic quick-release), 135 kg (automatic quick-clamp) or 150 kg (lever). The woodworking quick-release line does not state a kg force in the title; pages describe lever force similar to screw-type clamps without a number.
Are woodworking quick-release clamps the same as bar clamps?
No. Woodworking quick-release clamps in this guide use a lever and release latch on a steel guide (120 × 200–600 mm titles). Bar-style carpenter’s clamps use a long bar and screw spindle with much higher stated forces in Saniso’s carpenter’s clamp range — a different product family.
