Gypsum-based adhesive for bonding and finishing gypsum blocks

Speedline Gypsum Block Adhesive is a powder-based gypsum adhesive with factory-added additives, specially developed for bonding and finishing lightweight and heavy gypsum blocks in accordance with NEN-EN 12859.

The adhesive is also suitable for working on plastered surfaces, installing plaster carriers, and repairing damaged gypsum walls. It is factory-mixed to ensure consistent quality and provides a white finish, extended working time, and high adhesive strength.

Applications

Substrate Preparation

The substrate must be sound, stable, level, dimensionally stable, dry, clean, and free from dust and frost. It should also have a uniform absorption capacity.

If the substrate does not meet these requirements, it must be properly prepared before application.

The air and substrate temperature must remain between +5°C and +30°C during application.

Mixing

Mix 1.5 parts powder with 1 part clean, room-temperature water.

Gradually add the powder to the water and allow it to absorb the water. Then mix thoroughly using a trowel or suitable mixer.

Do not add any other substances or additives. Once the material has started to set, do not attempt to restore its workability by adding water or remixing.

Clean tools and equipment with water immediately after use.

Application

Speedline Gypsum Block Adhesive is applied manually.

Working time: approximately 3.5 hours

Consumption:

• Bonding: approximately 1–1.5 kg/m² of wall
• Filling: approximately 0.8 kg/m² per mm of thickness
• Yield as filler: approximately 31 m² per 25 kg per mm thickness

For bonding, apply the adhesive to the tongue-and-groove profiles of the gypsum blocks. Join the blocks, press them firmly together, and align them correctly. Remove any excess adhesive from the joints.

Finishing

Speedline Gypsum Block Adhesive can be used as a finishing material with a maximum layer thickness of 3 mm.

Apply subsequent layers only after the previous layer has completely dried and been primed. Sanding and further finishing should only be carried out after complete drying.

Drying and Ventilation

After application, ensure adequate ventilation in enclosed spaces to remove excess moisture. Use regular short periods of ventilation or cross-ventilation.

Protect the material from frost until it has completely dried.

Storage

Shelf life is approximately 6 months when stored correctly. Keep the product dry, frost-free, and properly sealed. Once opened, close the packaging airtight and use the product as soon as possible.
