Choosing fixing systems
A fixing is only as strong as its weakest link: the substrate, the plug or anchor and the screw together determine the load capacity. Identify the substrate first, then choose the fixing type and size that matches the load.
For heavy or safety-relevant fixings, such as railings or wall-hung sanitary ware, choose a heavy-duty or chemical anchor and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for drill diameter, depth and edge distance.
